Cephalopod Wednesday is one day a week celebrating all things cephalopod! A cephalopod (pronounced /ˈsɛfələˌpɒd/ or /ˈkɛf/~) is any member of the molluscan class Cephalopoda (Greek plural κεφαλόποδα, kephalópoda; “head-feet”) such as a squid, octopus or nautilus.
It’s the return of #cephalopodwednesday! This week I created a couple of octopus toys. The orange one is a stuffed octopus and the blue one is a pull toy. When I was a kid I had tons of stuffed animals and a Fisher Price “Snoopy” dog that I loved, which spurred the idea for this toy.
Today I present a classic #cephalopodwednesday. This little ghost has nabbed the wrong sheet from his mom’s cupboard, but there’s still a costume party to go to so he’s put it on and is ready to boogie!
Eddy the Pirate found an abandoned cache of treasure and his little monkey is checking the treasure chest for something special. He found a small octopus sitting right on top and picked it up to investigate. Neither one is paying attention to what’s sneaking up on them!
For today’s #cephalopodwednesday I present another octopus. This one is lingering on the ocean floor and is camouflaged by the dark. The photographer’s camera flash has highlighted some beautiful orange and white highlights.
