I am a children's illustrator currently living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area. I graduated from Wayne State College in 2000 with a BA in K-12 Art Education and English Literature. Since then I’ve meandered through several careers, receiving a BS in Software Engineering in 2007, only to find my way back to where I started with my love of art.

About My Work

All my art inspiration comes from my pursuit of adventure and happiness. One of the most important reasons I paint cute critters and stuffed animals is to bring people back to their memories of childhood, when the pursuit of dreams and passions were encouraged and everything seemed possible. I love making up little stories about each piece that I create; many pieces showcase adventures (or misadventures) of the characters, but others are simply illustrations of emotions, such as joy or sadness.

My current work is primarily digital illustration, though I have had plenty of experience with graphite, pen and ink, watercolor, and acrylics and will occasionally create works in these media. I have a weakness for art supplies, so there are always some available when I get the urge!

SCBWI I am a current member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
